Garbage and Refuse

Code Enforcement staff enforces municipal codes applicable in the community, including the provision against the open storage of junk/garbage such as construction and automotive materials or parts, inoperative motor vehicles, camper shells, appliances, furniture, debris or equipment on private or public property. Refuse is not only unsightly but it may also be dangerous (protruding nails or sharp edges) and chemically hazardous (harmful fluids or dust), and can also attract rodents, insects, and other vermin.

Although it is a goal of the Code Enforcement Unit to be responsive to the needs of the residents of our community, there are some refuse issues that may not be applicable to the code and therefore deemed property owner responsibility.

For questions or concerns relating to illegally dumped or personal refuse on private or public property, call Code Enforcement at 209-664-7348, or complete the online citizen report form.
