Yesterday, Turlock Fire Department was called to assist in getting a cat out of a tree. The cat had recently surgery and had been in the tree for 3 days. Firefighters were able to retrieve the cat and safely return it to the owner.

Today, at approximately 4:56 pm, all Turlock Fire units responded to a working structure fire in the 900 block of Souza St. First arriving crews found smoke and flames coming from the second story of a barn. Crews brought the fire under control within 30 minutes.

Last night, at approximately 10:12 pm, Turlock fire department responded to the report of a vehicle fire in the 1100 block of Colorado Ave. While responding, the call was upgraded to a potential structure fire due to reports of the carport on fire as well.

Turlock Fire Station 32 is in the process of having its roof replaced. Over the weekend, Turlock experienced a weather system that tested the temporary coverings that were put in place by the contractor. In spite of their best efforts, some water entered the station impacting the living areas of the station. A restoration company is assisting with the remediation efforts. This could take several days. To ensure the safety of the crews there may be times when they utilize neighboring stations for showering, and rest. Every effort will be made to limit impacts and response times to the community.
