Tuesday, October 31, 2023Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Columbia Pool Improvement Project
In July of 2021, City Council approved an agreement with a consultant for the design of the renovation of the Columbia Pool facility. Following a thorough and extensive analysis of the existing facility, in April of 2022, City Council directed staff to proceed with plans for a revised scope of work: complete demolition of the current facility and installation of a new pool, decking, landscaping, and buildings. The Notice of Completion for the demolition phase of the previous facility and the award of bid for the construction of the new facility were both brought before City Council in September of 2023. Columbia Pool is expected to be ready for the 2024 summertime swim season."Today, as we break ground on the Columbia Pool in Turlock, we're not just building a place to swim,” said Mayor Amy Bublak, “we're crafting memories, fostering community, and nurturing dreams for the children of Turlock. This pool is not just a structure, it's a promise of a brighter, healthier, and more united future for our community." 🏊🌟 #TurlockColumbiaPool
The ceremony will begin at 3:30 PM on Thursday afternoon and take place at the site of Columbia Pool at Columbia Park (600 Columbia Ave, Turlock, CA 95380). All community members are welcome to attend.
