HUMAN TRAFFICKING OPERATION LEADS TO DOZENS OF ARRESTS

During the evening hours of February 11 and 12, 2022, officers from the Turlock Special Investigations Unit (SIU) participated in a multi-agency Human Trafficking Operation, which is known as “Operation Rebuild and Reclaim.” The operation is a collaboration of agencies around the state with the common goal of identifying those people involved in Human Trafficking and to rescue victims of Human Trafficking.

Turlock Police Department SIU officers and other local agencies partnered with the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department, who hosted the Operation. These agencies and departments all worked together to combat Human Trafficking within Stanislaus County.

Over the course of the two-day operation, over sixty subjects were arrested for various sexual human trafficking related offenses. Turlock SIU Officers were responsible for twelve of these arrests. During this operation, nine trafficked individuals were rescued.

Of the investigations handled by Turlock SIU Officers, they recovered two firearms and over two pounds of methamphetamine.

All of the adults arrested were transported and booked at the Stanislaus County Jail for their listed charges. The juvenile arrested was released on a citation to a parent.
